Custom online shops

Sell online without a platform’s limits and without handing it a cut of every order.

We build your shop in custom code, so there’s no monthly platform fee, no commission on orders, and the shop does exactly what you need. If Shopify, Shoptet or WooCommerce would suit you better, we’ll say so plainly and build it there.

Most of our time goes into the path from product to paid order. Customers can buy without creating an account, the checkout is just a few steps, the address fills itself in as they type and they pick a pickup point on a map. We connect any payment gateway, for example Stripe, PayPal, GoPay or Comgate, and any carrier, for example DHL, DPD or Zásilkovna.

Once an order is paid, everything that would otherwise cost you hours of manual work happens on its own. Invoices appear in your accounting tool, for example Xero, QuickBooks or Fakturoid, stock levels match your warehouse system, and products show up in Google Shopping and on comparison sites. Customers get order emails in your brand’s look.

To be clear: a custom shop needs ongoing care for security and updates. And the payment gateway always takes its own fee, wherever the shop runs. We’re happy to look after it, or we hand it over with every login to you or your developer.

What’s included

  • No platform fees or commission
  • Any payment method or carrier
  • Linked to stock and accounting
  • Feeds, comparison sites and marketplaces

What you get

  • No platform fees or commission

We build the shop directly in custom code. No platform takes a monthly fee or a share of your orders, and no platform rules hold you back. If Shopify, Shoptet or WooCommerce would suit you better, we’ll tell you honestly.

  • Payments and delivery

We connect any payment gateway, for example Stripe, PayPal, GoPay or Comgate, for cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, bank transfer and cash on delivery. The same goes for carriers, for example DHL, DPD or Zásilkovna, and customers pick their pickup point on a map at checkout. Shipping can be priced by weight, country or order value.

  • A checkout people finish

Customers can buy without an account, the checkout is just a few steps and the address fills in as they type. We add discount codes and gift vouchers, and remove every step where someone might give up.

  • Automatic invoices and stock

Invoices are created automatically in your accounting tool, for example Xero, QuickBooks or Fakturoid. We sync the shop with your warehouse or stock system, so the numbers match everywhere.

  • Products

Variants, filters, stock levels, bundles, related products and reviews. We import products from a spreadsheet or a supplier feed, so nobody has to retype them.

  • Comparison sites and marketplaces

We set up feeds for Google Shopping and comparison sites, for example Heureka or Idealo, and connect the shop to marketplaces, for example Amazon or Allegro.

  • Emails and newsletters

Order emails in your brand’s look, abandoned-cart reminders and review requests after a purchase. For newsletters we connect the shop to, for example, Klaviyo, Mailchimp or Ecomail.

  • Currencies, VAT and wholesale

The shop handles multiple currencies and VAT rates, wholesale price lists and customer accounts. We can also add subscriptions, a configurator or product personalisation.

  • Everything in one admin

Orders, products, customers and sales, all clearly laid out in one place. The admin contains only what you actually use to run the shop.

  • Test orders and accessibility

Before launch we place test orders across every payment and delivery combination, including a declined payment and a refund. We build to WCAG 2.2, so everyone can shop with you comfortably.

What you end up with

  • A live online shop
  • Payments and delivery, tested
  • The admin
  • Documentation
  • Every login
How we work

How an online shop comes together

Four steps from the first conversation to your first real order. You can watch the shop take shape on a private preview link the whole time and try buying something yourself.

  1. Planning the shop

We go through what you sell, how many products you have, where you ship and how customers look for them. Based on that we recommend custom code or a platform, and plan the categories and the buying journey. You know the fixed price before we start.

    What you get

    • Choice of technology
    • Category structure
    • Buying journey plan
    • A fixed price
  2. Design

We design the product listing with filters, the product page, the basket, the checkout and the order emails. You get them as a clickable preview, so you can walk through a whole purchase before we build anything.

    What you get

    • Product listing and product page
    • Basket and checkout
    • Order emails
  3. Build and integrations

We build the shop and connect payments, carriers, accounting and stock. We import your products from a spreadsheet or supplier feed and set up feeds for comparison sites and marketplaces.

    What you get

    • Payments and delivery
    • Accounting and stock connected
    • Products imported
    • Comparison-site feeds
  4. Test orders and launch

Before launch we test orders across every payment and delivery combination, including a declined payment and a refund. Then you get the admin, documentation and every login. We keep looking after security and updates, or we hand the shop over to you or your developer.

    What you get

    • Tested orders
    • Documentation
    • Every login

Frequently asked questions

An online shop always costs more than a brochure site, because it handles money and data that has to be accurate. The exact figure depends mainly on three things: how many products you sell, whether the shop connects to your stock or accounting system, and which shipping and payment options you offer.

Fifty products with the same structure are less work than ten that each come in different variants. Tell us what you need and we’ll send you a price for your shop specifically. And if you haven’t got it all figured out yet, we can work through it together.

A smaller brochure site takes several weeks, a larger project several months. Once we’ve seen the brief we’ll give you a specific date, and we’ll stick to it.

When a deadline slips, it’s almost never because of the build. Usually we’re waiting for material: copy, photos, logins or sign-off inside your company. If you know the copy will be a struggle, tell us at the start. We can either write it for you or plan the schedule around it.
