The brief
Galerie Teplice is a shopping centre on náměstí Svobody. It holds over ninety shops and services, a cinema, a food zone and parking in the middle of town.
People usually come to a site like this with a practical question: what the opening hours are, whether a particular brand has a shop there, or what’s on at the cinema today. But the site also has to present the centre as somewhere worth a visit even with nothing particular in mind.
The solution
The shop directory is the heart of the site, because it’s what people look for most. The cinema programme, the food zone and gift vouchers each have their own section, as each changes at its own pace.
Brand campaigns and events have their own place, so new ones can be added at any time without touching the rest of the site. At the bottom of the page are the Instagram feed and the newsletter signup, the two channels the centre uses most to keep in touch with its customers.
The look
We started from the centre’s logo and the colour stripe above its lettering. Apart from that the site is almost black and white, with raspberry as the only strong accent, so most of the colour comes from the photos and the shop logos.
The homepage opens with large photographs of the building that rotate between day and evening shots. Headlines use the geometric Outfit, body text Manrope, and practical details like opening hours and parking are set as clean tables. The result reads more like a city guide than an advertising flyer, which suits a centre that sits right on the town square.
The details
At the very top, a bar uses the current time to show whether the centre is open and when it closes. Below the main photo there’s a search for shops, restaurants and events, with links to opening hours, parking and contact right beside it. The Navigate button opens directions in maps, so anyone coming by car doesn’t have to copy the address anywhere.
The shop directory can be filtered by category and by floor, and every shop has its own page. Visitors who don’t know the building can open a 3D map of the centre and find the shop inside it. Public holidays and other changes to opening hours show up directly in the table, so nobody turns up to locked doors.
