The brief

The Martina Dryk Foundation restores buildings for social use and supports education and culture in the Ústí and Karlovy Vary regions.

It works in several towns, so the first thing a visitor wants to know is where exactly it helps and what it does there.

The solution

Every location has its own page: Ústí nad Labem, Karlovy Vary, Varnsdorf, Chomutov and Blatno, as well as Prague. Someone from Varnsdorf or Chomutov can go straight to their own town without reading about the others. Above those pages sits a map that ties them all together.

The partners’ section is kept apart from the one for the public, because each side wants something different. The foundation looks after its own news.

The look

The site is built on white, a dark graphite and a single muted gold. Headings are set in the classic serif Playfair Display and body text in the clean sans serif Geist. The result feels more like a cultural institution than a charity appeal, because the foundation wants to win partners over with seriousness and steady work, not pity.

We turned the fan of rays in the logo into the main motif of the homepage: the rays rise from a horizon line along which sit the towns where the foundation works. The town cards show real photos of Ústí, Karlovy Vary or Varnsdorf, so readers recognise the places at a glance.

The details

The homepage offers two routes, Where we work and For partners, depending on whether the visitor is someone from the region or a potential partner. Each town page sets out what the foundation plans to do there and what it has already contributed to, and links to news from that place. Partners get the process of working together laid out in five steps, from first contact to evaluation.

Above the footer, most pages repeat the same invitation: if you see an opportunity where you live, get in touch. It links to the contact form. The menu floats above the content as you scroll, with the social links built into it, and the language switch is ready for further versions.
