The brief

The Life Docc films real stories of people who are rarely heard, mostly seniors and people going through hard times. The films are published on social media.

So the website isn’t where they get watched. It’s where people come when they want to support the project or have a story to suggest.

The solution

The whole site fits on one page with two clear aims. It has a form for people who want to send in the story of someone close to them, and a donation section with a bank account number and a QR code, so anyone can give from their phone in a moment.

Between the two sit the press mentions. A project that asks for money and trust has to be able to back itself up, and that matters more here than anything else.

The look

The opening screen is dark, almost black, with both creators pointing their microphones at the viewer. Blue light falls on them, and the same blue returns in the italic headline, the small labels and the rules between sections. Blue feels calm and serious, which suits stories about older people and people in trouble far better than anything loud.

We set the headlines in a serif that recalls documentary title cards, with a plain sans serif underneath that’s easy to read. After the dark opening come light sections with photos from the shoots. They’re ordinary phone snapshots with handwritten notes, and we left them as they are, because people trust the project precisely because it doesn’t dress anything up.

The details

The menu jumps straight to the sections of the page: story, photos, press, video, support and contact. Visitors coming from Instagram or TikTok are usually holding a phone, and the support section is one tap away. The social links sit right in the header, because that’s where people actually watch the films.

The photo gallery moves with arrows or a swipe and shows at the top which picture you’re on. We embedded a sample film on the page itself, so a newcomer can get a feel for the project without going anywhere else. The form at the end asks only for a name, an email and a few sentences about the story, nothing more.
